Privacy Policy

DemNova provides browser-based AI tools for analyzing selected text, webpage content, screenshots, and images; generating responses; assisting with writing; and saving user-requested outputs. This Privacy Policy explains what information the DemNova browser extension collects, how it is used, when it is shared, and the choices available to users.

Depending on the feature used, DemNova may process:

• Text, prompts, and instructions submitted by the user.
• Text selected by the user on a webpage.
• Page content requested for contextual analysis.
• Screenshots, screen regions, and images submitted for analysis.
• The URL and title of the active webpage when required for a requested feature.
• AI-generated responses and conversation history.
• User settings, feature preferences, selected AI model, saved workflows, and recent outputs.
• Account authentication information when a user connects a DemNova account.
• An OpenAI API key if the user chooses to provide one.

DemNova does not collect complete browsing history or continuously monitor browsing activity. Webpage information is accessed only as needed to provide extension features initiated or enabled by the user.

DemNova uses information only to:

• Provide AI-generated answers and content analysis.
• Analyze user-submitted text, webpages, screenshots, and images.
• Provide selected-text, capture, writing, and output-insertion features.
• Maintain user settings and conversation continuity.
• Authenticate DemNova accounts.
• Send outputs to the user's DemNova Inbox when the user enables that destination.
• Maintain the security, reliability, and functionality of the service.
• Comply with applicable legal requirements and prevent misuse.

DemNova does not sell user information or use it for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

DemNova requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab: Allows user-requested interaction with the active tab, including visible-screen capture and contextual analysis.
• storage: Stores settings, preferences, authentication state, saved workflows, conversation history, and recent outputs.
• contextMenus: Adds DemNova actions, such as “Clarify,” to Chrome's context menu.
• Host access: Allows DemNova's toolbar and user-facing tools to operate on webpages and communicate securely with DemNova and supported AI services.

These permissions are used only to provide DemNova's disclosed features.

Some preferences and conversation information are stored through Chrome's local or synchronized storage.

Information stored using Chrome synchronized storage may be synchronized across browsers where the user is signed in to Chrome. Google's handling of synchronized data is governed by Google's applicable privacy policies.

Authentication tokens and certain temporary information are stored locally in the browser.

If a user supplies an OpenAI API key, it is stored using Chrome storage so the extension can make requests authorized by that user. DemNova does not intentionally expose the API key to webpages.

When a user requests an AI feature, relevant prompts, selected content, page context, screenshots, or images may be transmitted securely to:

• DemNova (demnova.com), for authentication, AI processing, account services, and optional Inbox delivery.
• OpenAI, when OpenAI models or the user's OpenAI API key are used to process a request.
• xAI, when a Grok model is selected to process a request.
• Google Chrome, to the extent information is stored using Chrome's synchronized-storage functionality.

These providers process information according to their respective terms and privacy policies. DemNova shares only the information reasonably necessary to provide the feature requested by the user.

Information stored locally by the extension remains in the browser until it is deleted by the user, removed by the extension, or cleared when the extension is uninstalled.

Conversation history, saved outputs, or account information stored through DemNova services may be retained until the user deletes the information or requests deletion, except where continued retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate operational purposes.

User-submitted data sent to third-party AI providers may be retained according to the provider's applicable terms, account settings, and privacy policy.

DemNova uses HTTPS to transmit information to its services and supported third-party providers. Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

DemNova does not permit humans to read private user content except:

• With the user's explicit consent, such as when providing support.
• When necessary to investigate security threats, fraud, or abuse.
• When required by law.
• When information has been aggregated and anonymized for legitimate internal operations.

Users may:

• Enable or disable DemNova features through the extension settings.
• Delete locally stored conversation history and saved content where those controls are available.
• Remove a saved OpenAI API key.
• Sign out of their DemNova account.
• Uninstall the extension to remove its locally stored extension data.
• Request access to or deletion of account data by contacting DemNova.

Data-deletion requests can be submitted to demmamadou2003@gmail.com. Requests may require identity verification before account information is disclosed or deleted.

DemNova is not directed to children under 13, and DemNova does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If such information is discovered, please contact us so it can be deleted.

This Privacy Policy may be updated when DemNova's features, data practices, or legal obligations change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be disclosed where required.

DemNova's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. DemNova uses extension user data only to provide or improve its disclosed, user-facing features.

DemNova does not sell user data, use it for personalized advertising, or transfer it to data brokers or information resellers.
